Man charged with failing to comply

On Thursday, a 54-year-old Chatham man was released from court with several conditions including remaining in his residence except for medical emergencies.

On Sunday, the man was located outside of his residence for a non-medical reason.

He has been charged with two counts of failing to comply and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with theft

Chatham-Kent police said a man riding a bicycle in downtown Chatham Saturday allegedly approached the scene of a photo shoot and stole a wedding photographer's camera bag with cameras inside it.

Police said shortly after that, the man was located -- and he still had the camera in his possession. Another officer was able to rush the equipment to where the wedding was taking place and returned it to the photographer just in time to capture the bride and groom’s special day.

As a result of the investigation, a 60-year-old man was arrested and charged with theft and possession. He was released on a promise to appear with a future court date.
