Assault charges laid after incident at Chatham high school

Two local teens are charged with assault after Chatham-Kent police responded to a call about a "disturbance" at a high school in Chatham.

Police said the teens were both arrested Monday morning, adding that the incident took place sometime last week.

Both of the youths were released with conditions and a future court date after they were arrested and charged.

ATVs and trailer stolen in Tilbury

Chatham-Kent police are looking for a pair of gold Can-Am ATVs and a trailer that were all reported stolen from Tilbury Delta Power Equipment in Tilbury.

Police said they were stolen sometime around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The total value of the theft is estimated at $30,000.

Man charged with mischief

A 63-year-old man has been charged with mischief after he allegedly damaged a window during an argument with another man that he knows at a residence in Chatham.

Police said that happened sometime Monday morning, adding the accused was arrested, charged, and released with conditions and a future court date.

Shoplifting charges laid

A 20-year-old man who is accused of stealing two security cameras from the Real Canadian Superstore in Chatham has been arrested.

Police said the man allegedly stole the cameras at around noon Monday, adding he is now charged with theft and possession of stolen property.

The accused has since been released with conditions and a future court date.

Tools stolen from unlocked trailer

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after someone broke into a locked compound on Grand Avenue East in Chatham over the weekend and stole some tools from a trailer.

Investigators said the trailer was unlocked at the time of the break-in, adding that the total value of the theft is estimated at $4,000.

Tools and generator stolen during break-in

Police are working to track down some tools and a generator that were stolen from a garage on Countryview Line.

Investigators said the break-in took place sometime between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday.

Theft from vehicle

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips as they try to track down some leads in connection with a theft from a vehicle that was parked on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Police said sometime Monday, someone stole a Black Energizer bag containing a laptop, a GPS, and some keys from the vehicle.

The total value of the theft has been estimated at $1,250.
