Express stop the Highlanders 107-103

Juan Pattillo scored 22 points as the Windsor Express beat the Highlanders 107-103 at Cape Breton Sunday afternoon.

The Express now have a 12-9 record in the NBL Canada standings.

Windsor held off a late charge by the Highlanders to seal the victory, after dominating the first three quarters of the contest. Despite the strong start for the Express, the score was 48-48 at halftime.

Four out of the five Windsor starters scored in double digits. Ryan Anderson put in 20 points and DeAndre Thomas scored 19. Anderson also led defensively with 16 rebounds, while Horace Wormely had 11 assists.

Bruce Massey led all scorers with 26 points for Cape Breton. Chris Johnson scored 21 points off the bench and Jamal Reynolds put 15 through while collecting 19 rebounds.

The Express return to action next Sunday afternoon when they visit the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans.
