Ford issued a recall regarding a faulty airbag that affects almost 150,000 Canadian vehicles.
According to a release by Ford Motor Company, the issue is with the passenger side Takata airbags. The company said it is unaware of any injuries resulting from this specific recall, but deaths have been reported from faulty Takata airbags in the past.
Ford is recalling 953,000 vehicles worldwide, 782,384 in the United States and 149,652 in Canada.
Models affected include the 2010 and 2011 Ford Ranger, the 2010 to 2012 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ, the 2010 and 2011 Mercury Milan, the 2010 to 2014 Mustang and the 2010 Ford Edge.
Ford said its dealers will replace the inflator or module for free. The company added the recalls could be limited to specific geographical areas.
This is the second major recall in two weeks for the company. The last was on December 21 over concerns of faulty power cables on the block heaters of certain F-150s that could cause fires.
