Man arrested on warrants
A 26-year-old man spent his New Year's Eve behind bars after police got a report about a suspicious male.
The call came from the Selkirk St. area in Chatham around 8 a.m. Monday.
Police found the suspect and discovered he was wanted for outstanding warrants.
He is being held pending bail.
Two Break and Enters
Chatham-Kent Police are investigating two break-and-enters; one last weekend, and the other around noon on Tuesday.
The first was at the Store N Save storage units on Allison Ln. in Blenheim. The security fence was cut, and thieves broke into 14 units.
Police are not sure what is missing from those units, but anyone with information should email Constable Mike Taylor at miketa@chatham-kent.ca.
The second break-in was at a home on Riverview Dr. Monday around 12 p.m.
Suspects smashed a glass exterior door and got away with about $600 in property including a Playstation and a Samsung phone.

Polar Plunge
Chatham-Kent Police want to remind the public the 2nd annual Polar Plunge is on Saturday, January 19 at St. Clair College, Thames Campus.
There will be two plunge times: at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
In between those two events, is a charity BBQ.
Proceeds will go to Special Olympics Ontario, and anyone who needs more information can contact Constable Jason Herder at jasonh@chatham-kent.ca.
