Throwing knives, a replica gun, and meth were found during a traffic stop in Chatham.
Police said an officer pulled a car over on Thames Street just after 1 a.m. Thursday. The officer learned the driver had a suspended licence, and a search turned up crystal meth.
Police searched the passenger as well and found a black metal replica handgun in his waistband and a backpack containing a digital scale, small blue plastic baggies, cell phone, throwing knives, and more meth hidden in a pop can. Police estimated the street value of the drugs at roughly $560.
A 23-year-old Blenheim man was charged with driving while suspended and drug possession. He was released pending a court date on December 20.
The 33-year-old Blenheim passenger was charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking and carrying a concealed weapon. He was also released pending a future court date on December 20.
