Alleged drunk driver on Highway 401 charged

A 39-year-old man from Brampton is accused of impaired driving after provincial police were called about a transport truck weaving in and out of the lanes on Highway 401.

Chatham-Kent OPP said they received a complaint about a westbound commercial vehicle weaving all over the road near Charing Cross Road on Sunday around 2 p.m.

After speaking with the driver, the officer suspected the 39-year-old being impaired. He was taken for further tests.

The driver has since been charged with driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood. A court date has been set for December 11.
