For the second time in less than a week, a vehicle has been pulled from the Thames River just west of Chatham.
Police said in the most recent case, the vehicle went into the water off of Riverview Line between Dillon Road and Drake Road at around 9:20 a.m. Saturday. The driver and only occupant of the vehicle, a 68-year-old Tilbury woman, was able to escape without injury.
Police have estimated the damages at $10,000 and said the incident is still under investigation.
The latest slip into the river comes just days after another vehicle was pulled out of the water last week Tuesday. The driver and lone occupant in that incident also escaped without injury.
