Alleged convenience store robber turns himself in
The man accused of robbing a Mac's Milk in Wheatley back in February has turned himself in.Police said he attended police headquarters Tuesday morning. The 25-year-old Chatham man has been charged with robbery and wearing a disguise with intent.
According to police, the man walked into the store at around 4:45 a.m. on February 18 and demanded money and cigarettes from the cashier.Officers said the cashier complied with the suspect’s demands and wasn’t physically hurt during the incident.
The suspect was transported to the courthouse pending a bail hearing.
Pair caught in stolen vehicle
Two Chatham men have been arrested and charged with stealing a car.Police said the incident happened Tuesday morning when they responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on St. Clair Street in Chatham. Officers located the vehicle and found out it was reported stolen from a woman on Park Avenue last month.
A 22-year-old and 33-year-old were charged with being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.
The 22-year-old was released pending a future court date of October 24. Police said after further investigation, they learned the second man was wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions. He was transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.
Stolen trailer in Dresden
Police are asking for the public's assistance in finding a trailer that was stolen this past week.Officers said the black 2011 Econo car hauler style trailer was taken from a property on Camden Street. They added is has a "Mac Neaves Trailer" sticker on the tongue and is valued at approximately $3,000.
