Driver charged after apparent road rage incident on Highway 401

A 25-year-old Windsor man is charged after allegedly slamming on his brakes in front of another driver on Highway 401.

Chatham-Kent OPP said Saif Habeeb is accused of tailgating a vehicle in the westbound lanes of the highway near Communication Road at around 2pm last week Thursday before passing the vehicle and then slamming on the brakes.

Police said the man is also accused of speeding up and passing several tractor trailers on the paved shoulder on the right side of the highway.

Officers said they were able to track down a vehicle that fit the description they received from a complainant and spoke to the driver before charging him with dangerous driving.

He is set to appear in court in October.

The charges have not been proven in court.
