The unofficial end of summer will be a hot one for some in southwestern Ontario.
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent beginning Sunday.
With the Labour Day weekend in full swing, forecasters say there will be plenty of heat and humidity. While the latest forecast calls for temperature highs around 3oC for the next few days, the humidex reading could break 40C, hence the reason for the heat warning.
The weather agency says a mass of hot air will sit above the region from Sunday until at least Wednesday, keeping temperatures and humidity high. Forecast lows for each night may not get below 20C, providing little nighttime relief.
Environment Canada says a cold front will move through around Wednesday, with the kids back in school, and cooler temperatures are expected for Thursday.
