A 30-year-old man is facing a handful of charges for allegedly carrying drugs and a weapon in Chatham.
Police say an officer spotted a man riding a motorcycle without licence plates on King St. E. Thursday afternoon. The driver was pulled over and police found out that the 30-year-old is suspended from driving because of unpaid fines.
During the arrest, the Chatham man was allegedly found with a pellet gun, which police say was a "replica of a semi-automatic firearm which is defined as a prohibited device under the Criminal Code." The 30-year-old was also allegedly found with crystal methamphetamine, hydromorphone pills, cocaine and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The Chatham man is now charged with carrying a concealed weapon, failing to comply with a court order, and three counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking.

A 47-year-old Chatham man has been arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman and then threatened her boyfriend.
Police say officers were called to Jaycee Park in Chatham Thursday night. In addition to the alleged assault, the 47-year-old also allegedly threw rocks on a vehicle, causing about $1,000 worth of damages.
The Chatham man is now charged with assault, uttering threats, and mischief under $5,000. He will have to appear in court September 12.

Texting out of rage didn't turn out too well for a 33-year-old Chatham man.
Police say the man allegedly sent a text to his ex-girlfriend, threatening to kill a man she knows. The 33-year-old was arrested Thursday night and charged with uttering threats.

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after someone stole a bicycle and various tools from an unlocked garage in Blenheim.
Police say the theft happened earlier this week on Vander Ave. The items stolen are worth approximately $700.
In the meantime, police are also investigating a break-in in Wallaceburg.
Sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, police say someone broke into a shed on James St. In addition to the $50 worth of damage caused during the break-in, $300 worth of fishing rods and tools were reported stolen.
