Police Stop More Stunt Drivers

A 20-year-old Windsor woman will have to hitch a ride with someone else for the next week.

Chatham-Kent OPP say they pulled the woman over on the Hwy. 401 at around 8:15pm Tuesday night after allegedly recording her driving faster than 130 km/h in a posted 80 km/h construction zone on the highway near Bloomfield Rd.

As a result, the woman has been charged with racing a motor vehicle and her driver's licence and her vehicle have both been taken away for seven days.

The Ontario Provincial Police also reported laying three more racing charges in Essex County on Tuesday.

A 32-year-old Scarborough woman was stopped on Hwy. 401 in Lakeshore allegedly travelling in excess of 50 km/hr over the speed limit.

A 21-year-old Kingsville man was stopped on Hwy. 3 in Tecumseh doing more than 130 km/hr in an 80 zone.

A 19-year-old Windsor man was stopped on Essex Concession 4 travelling at more than 80 km/hr over the 60 km/hr speed limit.

Police say those three racing charges were laid over a five-hour period on Tuesday.
