Over $5K Raised For Cystic Fibrosis

A fundraiser held for Cystic Fibrosis Canada will return to the Chatham-Kent area next summer.

The first "Lawn Summer Nights" event was held at Tecumseh Park July 20. A night of lawn bowling, food, and drinks, raised a total of $5,100 for the Cystic Fibrosis organization.

"We are so happy to be able to bring this unique event to the community and to work with the strip mall to leverage activity in downtown Chatham," says Victoria Bodnar, Chatham Lawn Summer Night committee member. "We are excited to continue this event next year and raise even more money for Cystic Fibrosis Canada."

"Lawn Summer Nights" is an event held across the country. Local organizers say they're hoping to raise more than $5,000 next year.
