Art Taking Over Erieau

Thousands are expected to descend on Erieau this Saturday for Art on the Boulevard.

Over 100 artists will be displaying their wares are the ninth annual event, which runs from 9am until 4pm.

"Lots of woodworking, stained glass, watercolour, jewellery making, quilt making, you name it we've got it," says committee member Mary Anne Patterson. "We have three artists that are going to do art demonstrations throughout the day."

The house tour will not be running as they take a break from it for a year, but Patterson says you can still stroll along listening to music, while checking out the artwork.

"The boulevard is about 2 km long," says Patterson. "It's all trees, lots of shade, nice and wide. We had it widened a few years back so it's beautiful. You just walk along and we lined the artists up from tip-to-tip."

Patterson says parking can be a challenge, so she recommends people take the municipality's beach bus, which is free for the August long weekend.
