The OPP say two 31-year-old men are facing impaired driving charges after they were pulled over on the Hwy. 401 in Chatham-Kent this week.
They were both stopped on the highway near Kent Bridge Rd.
The first driver, a 31-year-old man from Mississauga, was pulled over at around 4:45pm Monday after officers received a complaint about a westbound vehicle that was following other vehicles too closely.
After speaking with the driver, police say they determined that the man had been drinking alcohol, so they took him back to the detachment headquarters for further testing. As a result of those tests, officers charged the driver with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
A second 31-year-old man was also charged with impaired driving after a separate roadside stop on the Hwy. 401 a day later.
Officers say they took a Bothwell man back to the detachment for further tests after pulling him over at around 11:45pm on Tuesday. Police say the man didn't have proper insurance, but he did have an open container of liquor in the vehicle.
He's now facing a handful of charges including impaired driving, driving with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit, and failing to stop for a portable red light.
