A carelessly-discarded cigarette is the cause of a weekend fire in Leamington, fire officials say.
The Leamington Fire Department says it began around 6pm Saturday at Top Line Farms, located at County Rd. 18 east of Morse Rd.
The fire was intense enough to cause significant damage to one corner of the building.
The scene was cleared shortly after 1am Sunday, and product inside the building was assessed through the night.
Officials said Sunday morning that the cause was a cigarette that had not been put out properly.
The damage is estimated at $2.3-million, though the business' sprinkler system helped keep the blaze from spreading.
Kingsville Fire helped Leamington with putting out the fire, with the Salvation Army providing support.
There were no injuries.
