Launch Event Held For 12 Days Of Positivity

This year's 12 Days of Positivity is going to be bigger and better than ever in Chatham-Kent.

A kick-off event was held at Sons of Kent Brewery Wednesday evening to announce this year's campaign coming up in September. The launch party featured special guests Captain Positive and Opti Woman.

Positivity Day Co-Chair Darrin Canniff says this is the campaign's third year in Chatham-Kent.

"We started the first year as just Positivity Day. We realized there's way too much positivity to pack into one day, so we said let's just do the 12 days," he says. "It exploded from there. We've been getting such positive feedback."

Canniff says there are many new highlights to this year's 12 Days of Positivity.

"We had probably 70 or 80 events we attended last year, we're targeting over 100 of them [this year]. There's now going to be five free lunches across Chatham-Kent in different towns," he says. "[There's also] our $10,000 giveaway on the last date -- somebody in Chatham-Kent will get $5,000 cash and a $5,000 travel voucher just for attending a positive event."

Canniff says it's all about making Chatham-Kent a more positive place.

"We want to continue the venture of changing the culture in Chatham-Kent. We want every year, the meter in Chatham-Kent to move a little bit more positive," says Canniff.

The key sponsor of this year's 12 Days of Positivity is TekSavvy.
