Raising Hope For Chatham's Men's Shelter

A men's shelter in Chatham is benefiting from a recent event that pitted local emergency services members against each other in a friendly competition.

The Clash Of The Sirens at the St. Clair College Healthplex in Chatham on April 14 raised $5,586 for Chatham Hope Haven.

The competition was organized by Blair's Bootcamp and featured teams of four competing in three different first responder-related challenges.

A release from Chatham Hope Haven says the money "will go towards helping homeless men in our community." The shelter has been providing homeless men with a safe place to stay overnight since November.

Chatham Hope Haven also has a special connection with first responders as police officers sometimes know of someone who needs a safe place to stay and have been directing them to the shelter.
