Extra Trash Collection For Flooded CK

Flooded areas across Chatham-Kent are getting extra garbage collection.

The areas include Erieau, Erie Beach, Erie Shore Dr. and Shrewsbury.

The municipality says residents in those areas with excess waste must-have items at the curb no later than May 7 for collection on May 8.

All garbage must be in garbage bags, cardboard boxes, garbage containers or toter carts where possible. Extra garbage like carpets and underpads need to be cut-up into 5 ft lengths, bundled and tied and must not weigh more than 44lbs to be handled easier. Bulk items such as furniture damaged by flooding will also be collected.
