Shoppers' Fundraising Campaign Supports CK Hospice

The Chatham-Kent Hospice is getting a boost from some local Shoppers Drug Marts and their customers.

A release from the CK Hospice Foundation says Shoppers Drug Mart stores across the municipality recently handed over a cheque with the proceeds from their "Tree of Life -- Growing Women's Health Campaign," which raised more than $24,000 for the hospice in Chatham.

"We are so thankful to Shoppers Drug Mart employees and their customers for their generosity," said Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation Vice-Chair Steve Walker. "This donation is proof that small change can add up to make a big difference. Donations such as this help us continue to provide compassionate end-of-life care to families from across Chatham-Kent."

The donations are being earmarked for "ongoing operational needs" at the hospice.
