Mugridge Granted More Time To Repay Fraud Victims

The sentencing for disgraced former CK police Sargeant Robert Mugridge has been hit with another delay.

Another extension has been granted to Mugridge after the court heard Friday that he still needs more time to repay his fraud victims.

The court also heard that the goal is to make some restitution by end of April with sentencing in the case now set for May 29.

Mugridge pleaded guilty to one count of fraud in August 2017, but his sentencing, which was first scheduled to take place on January 9, was pushed back.

During a sentencing hearing on January 9, lawyer Glen Donald argued that his client, Mugridge, should be given more time for restitution before being sentenced.

At that time, the judge presiding over the case agreed to postpone Mugridge's sentencing to April 6, 2018.

Justice Campbell said Friday that restitution will be a factor in sentencing and vows there will be no more delays.
