Charges have been laid after a traffic stop in Chatham early Thursday morning led to a drug bust.
Chatham-Kent police say an officer found suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and digital scales after pulling a vehicle over on St. Clair St. around 12:30am.
The officer noticed a 28-year-old man in the back seat who had been out past his curfew. In addition to that violation, the 28-year-old was also under conditions to not possess drugs or drug paraphernalia. The male suspect was arrested and that's when the officer found drugs around where he had been sitting.
The 28-year-old has since been charged with three counts of failing to comply and two counts of drug possession. A 40-year-old Chatham woman and 59-year-old Chatham man, who were also in the vehicle, were charged with two counts of drug possession.
