A 22-year-old Amherstburg man will have to pay a hefty fine for trespassing on private property to hunt.
In a media release issued Wednesday, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says the 22-year-old pleaded guilty and was fined $1,000.
As stated in the release, conservation officials with the Southern Marine Enforcement Unit in Wheatley and the Amherstburg Police Service received a complaint on December 3, 2017, regarding a hunter trespassing on private property.
The ministry says the Amherstburg man was hunting coyotes on private property -- without the landowner's permission.
The ministry is reminding hunters that those who do go on private land must first have permission from the landowner.
