Stunt Driver Stopped On Hwy. 401
A 40-year-old Brantford man is facing possible jail time after police allege he was going way faster than the speed limit on the Hwy. 401.
Chatham-Kent OPP say they charged him with racing after they recorded a vehicle going faster than 150 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on the highway near Duart Rd. on February 27.
Officers say the man's driver's licence and his vehicle were both taken away from him for seven days as a result of the charge.
Police are also reminding the public that first-time offenders who are convicted of racing could face a fine of up to $10,000, six demerit points, up to six months in jail, and/or have their licence suspended for up to two years.

Driver Spins Tires To Throw Rocks At Officer
Chatham-Kent OPP say a 35-year-old man from Glencoe is in trouble with police after a traffic stop gone wrong.
Police say the man was pulled over on St. Clair Rd. on February 27 after an officer recorded it going faster than 100 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
Investigators say after the officer stopped the vehicle, the driver "accelerated in an aggressive manner," which caused some gravel to shoot up toward the officer.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Police say after the vehicle was stopped for a second time, the driver was charged with speeding and careless driving.
