Charges Laid In Chain Reaction Crash

Charges have been laid after a few tractor trailers crashed into each other on Hwy. 401 near Victoria Rd.

Chatham-Kent OPP says the "chain reaction" collision happened Wednesday morning around 8:30am.

Police say a westbound tractor trailer slowed down because of the snowy road conditions, which caused three tractor trailers following from behind, to collide into each other.

No injuries were reported but three vehicles had to be towed from the area.

A 23-year-old transport truck driver from Bowmanville, a 58-year-old driver from Wilsonville, and a 45-year-old from Caledon have been charged with following too closely.

Provincial police are reminding drivers to take it slow when road conditions are not great. Friday's road conditions are expected to be questionable as Environment Canada calls for about 15 cm of snow in the region.
