Police Hunting For Stolen Deere

Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers are appealing to the public for tips as police try to track down a backhoe that was reported stolen from a property near Merlin.

Officers say the 2009 black and yellow John Deere 310SJ backhoe with an 8' bucket on the front and a 16” bucket with teeth on the rear was stolen sometime in the afternoon on Monday, November 27.

Police say they're also looking for a male suspect who was last seen driving the backhoe off of the property and heading south on Talbot Trail (Hwy. 3).

The equipment is valued at $50,000. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers at 1 800-222-8477.
