Maroons Lose 8-5 To Nationals

The London Nationals earned their fourth straight win with a 8-5 victory over the Chatham Maroons on Wednesday.

Grant Spence and Bryce Yetman both scored within the first 39 seconds of the game to give Chatham a 2-0 lead. However, London answered back with two goals for their own to tie the game heading into the second.

The Nationals scored another two back-to-back goals in the first half of the second to take the lead, before Joshua Maine could score for London after 12:33. London continued to outplay the Maroons by scoring two more goals before the third, to take a 6-3 lead.

In a back and forth final period, Josh Supryka scored to bring the Maroons within two points, but London countered with a goal 15 seconds later. Chatham continued to fight back with Steven Fowler scoring 10:49 into the third, but the Nationals scored one final unanswered goal before the end of the game to cap off their win.

The Nationals out shot the Maroons 47-27.

The Nationals return to the ice on Friday when they take on the Lincolns in St. Marys at 7:30pm. And then on Sunday, the Maroons are back at the Chatham Memorial Arena to face off against the Lincolns at 7pm.
