CK Police Officer To Be Sentenced In March

Chatham-Kent police officer Kenneth Miller will be sentenced on March 16.

The 46-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of breach of trust on October 17 while one count of sexual assault was withdrawn.  Miller still faces a charge of breach of trust and another of sexual assault. Some charges stem from a sexual assault that allegedly took place in May of 2013, involving a 33-year-old woman.

The other charges involve sexual assault and breach of trust in relation to an incident that occurred in August of 2015 when it's alleged a woman was driven in a marked cruiser to a parking lot in the Orangewood Blvd. area and sexually assaulted.

Miller is charged by the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) with sexual assault and breach of trust by a public officer.

He was suspended from duty when the investigation started on August 27, 2015 and was charged with discreditable conduct under the Police Services Act.
