Five local funeral homes have teamed up to donate $10,000 to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign.
McKinlay Funeral Homes, Badder Funeral Home, Dennings of Chatham, Nichols Funeral Home, and Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home are partners with Southwest Crematoriums Ltd.
"We represent almost every community in the Municipality," says Rob McKinlay, president of McKinlay Funeral Homes. "The equipment being supported by the Foundation of CKHA's campaign has the potential to benefit every person in Chatham-Kent, and we are proud to support this initiative."
"Our funeral homes care for families in our communities, and giving back to those communities is important to us," says Jacob Rowe, director, Dennings of Chatham, "By providing support our local hospitals, we are strengthening our community and the families that we value."
The cheque brings the total raised for the D.I. Campaign to more than $4.6-million of its $6.9-million goal.
The money will be used by the Health Alliance to purchase 18 new pieces of equipment for the Diagnostic Imaging Department, including a new CT scan.
