"Only The Brave" Screened First in Chatham

Chatham will host the first Canadian screening of a major Hollywood film.

"Only The Brave" stars Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, Jeff Bridges, and Jennifer Connelly. It isn't due out until October 20th, but it will be shown this Thursday at Galaxy Cinemas in Chatham as a part of CK FireFest.

"For over a year now we've been working with the people of 'Only The Brave' to try to get the movie here," says FireFest co-chair Brent DeNure. "We found out on Friday that the right person in Los Angeles approved our plan, and Sony Entertainment got right on board."

"Only The Brave" is based on Brendan McDonough and a crew of firefighters who battled a wildfire in Arizona in 2013.

"There were several crews responding and one in particular was the Granite Mountain Hotshots," says DeNure. "The crew of 20 responded to the scene and there were some very unforeseen changes in the weather pattern, and unfortunately 19 of the 20 crew members perished in the fire."

The event is now sold out.
