Konecny In Bothwell For Autograph Session

Chatham-Kent's Travis Konecny will be making a stop in Bothwell Thursday night to sign autographs and pose for photos.

The Philadelphia Flyers forward from Clachan says he's looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting some local fans before he heads stateside for the upcoming NHL season.

"I grew up around there and spent some time around there," says Konecny. "I skated there a few times and watched my brother a lot -- it'll be good to go back there."

After a solid rookie season with the Flyers, putting up 28 points in 70 games, Konecny was glad to have some time to rest during the off-season as well.

"Doing a lot of fishing, I'm big into that," says Konecny. "I'm ready to go -- I think I'll be heading down to Philly in the next week or so and spend the rest of the summer down there getting ready for the upcoming season."

Konecny will be at the Bothwell Area Sports Centre from 6:30pm to 8pm Thursday.
