A horse seized by the Windsor-Essex County Humane Society is resting at a foster home after it was taken from a farm on County Rd. 42.
Executive Director Melanie Coulter says the deadline to comply with an order issued August 5 passed at noon on Thursday. She says the order was not acted on by the horse's owner.
"With respect to the condition, I can't speak to it. But, I can say that the horse was immediately transferred to a foster home and was immediately provided with veterinary care," says Coulter.
There are still other horses on the property and Coulter says there are outstanding orders concerning them. However, the investigation is still active, and she can not say when the deadline is.
She does say humane society officers continue to monitor the situation.
