Oshawa Man Charged With Stunt Driving In CK

A 27-year-old man has been charged with stunt driving on Hwy. 401 near Victoria Rd.

Chatham-Kent OPP say on July 29 around 1am, a vehicle was caught going 160 km/hr on the highway, which is a 100 km/hr zone.

Police say as a result, the 27-year-old man from Oshawa has been charged with stunt driving and failing to provide a valid insurance card.

He is to appear in court August 30.

Provincial police are reminding drivers that stunt driving or racing does come with penalties. Police say driving 50 km/hr (or more) above the speed limit could result in a seven-day licence suspension, seven-day vehicle impoundment, a $2,000 to $10,000 fine or up to six months jail (upon conviction).
