Wally Fest 2017 Expected To Attract Big Crowd

Food and fun activities are expected at the second annual Wally Fest this weekend.

The Wallaceburg Chamber of Commerce is hosting the second annual event on James St., on Saturday from 10am-2pm.

Student organizer Mackenzie Dreveny says the free event is expected to bring in a big crowd.

"We had a great crowd [last year], and we're expecting an even larger crowd this year," she says. "There will be a variety of vendors, a kid's zone, games, face painting, and lots of delicious food will be available."

In addition, Dreveny says there will be a farmers market set up where people can buy home-grown fruits and vegetables.

"[The event] is to promote our local vendors and businesses, and make more people aware of how valuable Wallaceburg is," she says.

To make room for the festivities, James St. will be closed to traffic for most of the day.
