The Ontario Provincial Police say on Monday around 4:15pm, a vehicle traveling north on Hwy. 40 attempted to make a turn when a second northbound vehicle crashed into the back of the stopped vehicle near Robin Line.

The driver of the second vehicle suffered serious life threatening injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, before being airlifted to a London hospital for further treatment.

It is unknown if anyone else was injured in the crash.

Hwy. 40 was closed between Electric Line and Corktown Line for several hours while officers conducted an investigation. The road has since been reopened.
