A Chatham-Kent fighter is looking to continue his winning streak in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Chad Laprise was victorious in Saturday night's UFC 213 match in Las Vegas, scoring the win in the third round by knockout over Brian Camozzi.
"Everything went awesome and went as I planned. [I] ended up getting the third round knockout and I also got the $50,000 performance of the night," says Laprise.
Laprise says his training is finally paying off after his second straight UFC win.
"I've been doing martial art for 16 years and I train two [to] four times a day, day in and day out. This is a lifetime of work that showed on Saturday night," he says.
He adds that representing his hometown is incredibly important.
"I just want to say thank you to everybody in the Chatham-Kent community. You know, that's my roots. I grew up in Pain Court, Ontario," says Laprise.
Laprise is looking forward to competing in the next Canadian UFC event at Edmonton's brand new arena September 9.
