Drivers on Hwy 401 in Ingersoll are encouraged to find an alternate route Saturday night.
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation has closed Hwy 401 in both directions at Route 19 in Ingersoll Saturday, so crews can demolish the Hwy 19 bridge.
Hwy 19 is also completely closed to traffic from Clarke Rd to Curry Rd.
Ontario Provincial Police will assist crews in rerouting traffic via the Hwy 19 interchange ramps. There may be major delays in this area.
This closure is part of the ongoing effort to improve the interchange, with the work expected to be finished this fall, according to MTO.
The closures were due to begin around 7pm Saturday, and the area is expected to reopen to traffic in both directions by 11am Sunday.
