Volunteers Needed for Memorial Cup

Organizers for the MasterCard Memorial Cup are looking for some good volunteers.

The tournament, hosted by the Windsor Spitfires with an automatic berth, will take place May 19 to 28 at the WFCU Centre.

"The response for volunteers has been good," host organizing committee volunteer coordinator Niva Segatto said in a statement. "But we are looking for more people who love this city, are enthusiastic and want to be involved with this huge event."

Volunteers are needed for a variety of positions, including transportation and hospitality.

High school students wanting to work toward their community service hours requirement for their diploma are encouraged to sign up, says Segatto.  Fan zone volunteers must be at least 15 years old, while transportation volunteers must be at least 25 years old.

Anyone interested in volunteering for the Memorial Cup is welcome to stop by Collavino Hall at the WFCU Centre on Sunday between 6pm and 8pm.  If you can't make it to in-person registration, visit the volunteer page on the official MasterCard Memorial Cup website.
