A pilot TV episode that was shot in Chatham-Kent is about to light up the Kiwanis Theatre at its premiere Monday night.
The comedy show called "Bushwhackers" was written and directed by Brad McDonald and Mike Pickard.
"Bushwackers is a golf comedy show and it was inspired loosely by Caddyshack and Trailer Park boys," says McDonald. "It's very much a Canadian take on golf."
Pickard adds the idea of having their comedy show revolve around a golf course started about 11 years ago, when they were working at one.
The episodes were filmed August 2016 in Chatham-Kent, now they're ready for the public eye.
McDonald and Pickard say the pilot episode is about 45 minutes long, that way the characters can be properly introduced. The following episode are about 22 minutes long.
"Our hope is to go to the comedy network," says McDonald. "We'd love to try and get onto Netflix or CraveTV."
Until then, they say Bushwhackers will be available to view on YouTube once it's uploaded.
The premiere of Bushwhackers is at 7pm on Monday, at the Kiwanis Theatre. Due to use of mature language, only those 14 years old and up will be allowed in.
