Environment Canada is warning Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent residents that we could get up to 30 mm of rain.
It has issued a weather statement calling for "a significant early April rainfall."
A low over Texas now is expected to track towards the Great Lakes starting Monday afternoon. Rain will continue Monday night with the possibility of a thunderstorm, and finally, taper off Tuesday as the low-pressure system moves into Quebec.
Environment Canada says rainfall amounts could total up to 30 mm, although Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent could get even more if thunderstorms materialize.
The Essex Region Conservation Authority and the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority have not yet issued a flood warning, although flooding is a risk whenever the region gets significant rainfall.
