Windsor Man Busted During Traffic Stop

You may have heard a lot lately about recreational marijuana, but police want to remind you, it is still illegal.

The Ontario Provincial Police in Chatham-Kent says an officer was driving westbound on Hwy. 401 around 10pm Monday night, when he pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation.

At first, the driver did not stop, and as the officer watched, he allegedly dumped something out of the passenger side window.

Once he did stop, the officer spoke to the driver and noticed some marijuana allegedly inside the vehicle.

In addition to being charged with having an improper license plate light, and failing to stop for police, a 48-year-old Windsor man now faces possession of a controlled substance and obstructing a peace officer charges.

He will be in court in May.
