Collision Sends One To Hospital With Serious Injuries

A 21-year-old Erieau man is in hospital with serious injuries following a collision in Harwich.

The Erieau man was driving a pickup truck eastbound on Erie Shore Dr. Friday night around 11pm.

Police say the 21-year-old didn't take into account the bend near Bisnett Line. As a result the truck ended up going off the road and into a deep drainage ditch.

Two passengers were able to get out of the truck and call for help. They sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The 21-year-old driver was extracted from the vehicle and taken to the CKHA with serious injuries. He was later taken to Windsor Regional Hospital.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Unit is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Ron Tricker at ront@chatham-kent.ca or the traffic unit at (519) 355-1092.
