The Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board wants to know how things are going for employers.
That's why their asking local business owners to fill out the Employer One Survey.
"We take that information and what we're able to do with it is look at the trends that come out of them and find out if it's an individual issue, if it's an issue that's kind of being repeated across or if it's a carte blanche, everybody's kinda having the same issues," says Project Manager Kristy Jacobs. "And then we can kind of devise a plan to address them."
This is the third year for the survey, which in the past has found that employers struggle to find workers with 'soft skills.'
"Things like problem solving, communication, work ethic, those sort of things," says Jacobs. "So the best way to learn it is by actually doing it, the experiential learning, getting out there, having someone model those things for you, having the mentorship opportunities . That's the best way to get those skills built up in our community."
The survey is available online until Tuesday, January 31st. The results should be available by the end of February.
