Chalk up a big victory for former workers at the Navistar truck assembly plant in Chatham.
The Financial Secretary of Unifor 127 says the pension fight is over and workers will finally be told by the company what their options and entitlements are within 60 days.
Cathy Baker says all the company appeals over language and other issues have been exhausted and she's glad the ordeal is behind them.
Baker says the pension fund wind up is a big burden lifted for a lot of former workers.
"They can determine if they want a commuted value or a monthly pension," says Baker. "It's entirely up to them and they'll resubmit them to the company and move on with their lives and hopefully be better off for it".
Baker adds the resolution is good for the local economy.
"It's good for Chatham-Kent," she says. "There will be an influx of money and more stability."
Information meetings will be held in the future but no dates have been set.
Dates will be provided over the Unifor national website once they're set.
