Trespassing In Chatham-Kent Concerns Mayor

Mayor Randy Hope is once again raising concerns about trespassing across Chatham-Kent.

Hope says council has sent a letter to the province asking for stronger and clearer trespassing laws to tackle the issue.

He says too often ATVs and hunters are trespassing on people's private properties and putting the public in danger.

"Some of the hunters think the wind mills are target practice and it's very costly and dangerous," says Hope, adding the "nonsense" needs to stop because it's destroying property.

"I, with a gun or an ATV, need to be respectful of others properties," he says. "It's not that we more rules but those who are doing wrong need to correct their own action."
