Government funding to expand the National Powerline Training Centre at St Clair College in Chatham is good news for the school, but program expansion may have to be put on hold for now.
Chair of Academic Studies Mark Benoit tells BlackburnNews.com finding new teachers is a problem right now because energy professionals are either retired or lured to higher paying energy jobs.
Benoit says he's looking for up to eight full-time and part-time teachers and technologists in the long-term.
Pay can reach $106,000 a year.
St Clair College Chatham and Windsor campuses received $7.8-million on January 9 to add 10,000 sq ft in Chatham and renovate facilities and equipment in Windsor.
