Canada To Face U.S. In World Junior Final

After a disappointing loss in the quarter-finals last year, Team Canada will get a chance to take home the gold medal from the World Junior Hockey Championship.

Canada beat Sweden 5-2 on Wednesday night to earn a spot in the final. Canada will play the United States after the Americans beat Russian in a shootout in the other semi-final game.

Things didn't look good for Canada early on. Starting goalie Connor Ingram was pulled after allowing two goals on three shots. He was replaced by Carter Hart with Canada trailing 2-1.

From there, it was all Canada as Julien Gauthier scored two of Canada's four unanswered goals which game the Canadians a 5-2 lead that they would not give up.

Canada outshot the Swedes 43-31.

The gold medal game is set for Thursday night at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
