The Southwest Agricultural Conference is returning to Chatham-Kent with a comedic twist.
The two-day event will feature two guest speakers who have incorporated comedy and agriculture in different ways.
The first speaker, Jerry Carroll is a farmer known for hosting "Fishing for Laughs" and his skit “Dirt in my DNA."
The second speaker, Greg Peterson is also a farmer but shares his agricultural insight through various parody videos.
Conference Co-Chair Adam Hayes says having these two guests speak at the conference is a way to combine agricultural information and in a fun and relaxed setting.
"We have up's and down's in agriculture so it's always good to lighten things up," says Hayes.
The conference will also feature about 45 other sessions.
"There's many concurrent sessions through the day so people are in those sessions trying to learn as much as they can and take the information back to their businesses," he says.
The Southwest Agricultural Conference is usually a sell-out event but Hayes says this year they sold out much quicker than expected.
"The conference is sold out for both days," says Hayes. "We will have about 1,350 people here each day."
Jerry Carroll is scheduled to speak at Ridgetown High School Wednesday afternoon and Farmer Greg Peterson is slated to speak Thursday.
