New Year's Day Closures

With New Year's Day falling on a Sunday this year, closures in Chatham-Kent will roll into Monday.

All municipal offices and most services will be closed on January 2. That includes all public library branches, the Cultural Centre including the box office, the Health and Family Services building, Public Health Services, the Public Utilities Commission , and the Provincial Offences Court.

CK Transit will not run on New Year's Day, while the Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool and Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will be closed on January 1.

Garbage and recycling will not be affected, and Public Works yards and stations in Chatham, Wallaceburg, Harwich, Romney, Camden, Dover, Bothwell, Ridgetown and Tilbury are accepting Christmas trees from residents free of charge.

Police, fire, and ambulance run 24 hours a day for emergencies.

At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance routine X-rays, EKG, and ultrasounds will not be available January 2. Same goes for Out-Patient Rehabilitation Services, the Diabetes Education Centre, and the TIA & CAD clinics. The Elston Pharmacy, the Ambulatory Care Department, the Oncology Department, and Hemodialysis Care will also be closed. All those department will all reopen on Tuesday, January 3.

The Emergency Departments in Chatham and Wallaceburg are open 24 hours a day.
